Josephine (Joi) L. Barnes, 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2020, to be with her husband, Harry A. Barnes, 83, who had passed away on February 19, 2019.
Josephine was born on December 23, 1941 and her husband, Harry, was born on December 22, 1936.
Joi to everyone she knew, leaves behind her love for her family and pets. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and wife. She was such a caring person to all that were in her life. She loved singing and playing guitar with her husband, mostly at Leo's Café in Torrington, CT. She also loved being and EMT out of Harwinton, CT, also with her husband. They both were very skilled in crafts and woodworking. They moved to Florida for family reasons and returned to Connecticut once again for family reasons.
Harry A. Barnes was a Marine veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a great step-father and husband. He was a caring man who loved his wife and family. He was a very skilled carpenter and interior painter. He really enjoyed being and EMT with Joi in Harwinton and also Waterbury.
Joi and Harry leave behind their memories and their family. Daughters, Pamela Dube and son-in-law Jeff, Joanne Tenore and son-in-law Robert; son Richard Tenore and daughter-in-law Donna; Grandson Richard Tenore, Jr., granddaughter Keyara Tenore; and a great-granddaughter Allie. They are predeceased by a great-granddaughter. Madalyn.
Joi also leaves behind two brothers, a sister, and many nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by a brother, Charles.
Joi and Harry meant so much to so man people in their lives and will be fondly remembered and missed.
There will be a memorial service for them in June and anyone who would like to attend are welcome. An announcement will be made on Facebook.
