Julia Kovach Obituary

With great sorrow we announce that Julia Ann Kovach, 46  passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2021 at her home in Wallingford, Connecticut. Born on April 9, 1974, she was the beloved daughter of Sandra and James Kovach of Cheshire, Connecticut. She also leaves behind and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Olivia Cuomo of Wallingford, CT, her brothers James J. Kovach (Jennifer) of Mesa AZ and Michael J. Kovach (Leah) of Westport, CT; nieces and nephew: Dylan and Brooke Kovach of Mesa, AZ and Ruby, Rose, and Reese Kovach of Westport, CT. She will also be remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends as well as Olivia's grandmothers, especially Dale Cuomo who helped her in many ways. Julia grew up in Cheshire, graduating from Cheshire High School in 1992 where she played field hockey, softball and participated in numerous activities. She was awarded a leadership scholarship to Lynchburg College in Virginia where she served as President of her senior class, graduating with a bachelor's Degree in 1996. She worked for many years in the field of telecommunications, eventually as a global Manager for Verizon Business and more recently as an Assistant Account Manager for JMG Insurance. Outgoing and fun loving, Julia loved to cook and host dinners and parties for family and friends. Those who knew her respected her sense of style and often sought her advice in matters of decorating or fashion.  Her quick wit, ready smile, and sense of humor endeared her to friends, family and co-workers. Truly kind and unselfish, she went out of her way to help others and had a way of making people feel good about themselves. Julia loved to travel,  especially to warm climates with sandy beaches ranging from the Caribbean to the Rhode Island or Jersey shore. She lavished attention and gifts on her daughter as well as her nieces and nephew especially at Christmas(her favorite holiday) when she was known to go overboard. Her greatest passion was in spending time with her daughter, Olivia, the love of her life, whether they were vacationing at the beach, shopping, cooking together, or simply cuddling on the couch watching a movie.  Donations may be made to gofundme.com,  Olivia's College Fund.  Due to Covid,  a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 1 at 12 noon at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire, CT.  Those attending are asked to follow Covid safety protocol.
