Justin Olms

Justin Joseph Olms passed away on June 14, 2023, in Ellington, CT at the age of 51. Justin was born in Toledo, Ohio, raised in Rossford and Perrysburg, Ohio before moving to Vernon, CT; he was a 1990 graduate of Rockville High School. Growing up, he and his brothers spent their summers in Salinas, CA with their father and stepmother.

Justin was easy-going, friendly, and kind. He recently completed his associate’s degree at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT. He was a bartender/server at Elmo’s Dockside Restaurant in Manchester, CT for more than 20 years, leaving there a few years ago to seek a different career path.

Justin was an avid and passionate Pittsburg Steelers fan, never missing a televised game. He loved all animals and had quite the variety over his lifetime. He was devastated when his last two dogs, Spencer and Rusty, crossed over the rainbow bridge; hopefully they greeted him on the other side.

He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Itzkowitz and stepfather Alan, father Joseph J. Olms, siblings: Jason Olms, Jeffery (Karen) Olms, Eli (Anna) Itzkowitz and Alyssa Itzkowitz; 2 nephews, 1 niece and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was loved and will be missed.

At Justin’s request, no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Justin’s name to the Vernon, CT Animal Shelter or an animal shelter of your choice or the Hockanum Valley Community Council (HVCC) in Vernon, CT.
