Karen Marie Leary passed away peacefully in her home in New Haven, CT on April 11th, 2026 at the early age of 58. Karen was born on October 23rd, 1967 in Springfield, MA to Nancy Leary. She graduated at Holyoke Community College with a culinary arts bachelor’s degree, and went on to become a manager at several different restaurants.
She was preceded in death by Thomas Leary, Nancy Leary (Greene), Morris Johnson, Charlie Leary, Dujuan Dubose, and survived by her children Amanda Leary, Christine Leary and Noah Johnson, her 2 sisters Elizabeth Leary and Susan Leary, and numerous other members and friends.
Despite getting injured working at age 30, she excelled at managing stores, cooking, and loved caring for the gardening of plants she had. She attended various different churches and had plans for becoming a pastor. Karen was phenomenal in social activities, and was sweet and caring with everyone, with a positive outlook on life. She loved spending time with family and friends, and left a beautiful impact on many who knew her.
Family and friends alike are invited to arrive early between 12:30pm-1:00pm to visit with the family prior to the service starting and attend the celebration of life gathering on Saturday, May 2, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Terryville Congregational Church, 233 Main Street, Terryville, Connecticut, followed by a gathering with refreshments for all who are able to attend.
