Kurt W. Price, 51, of Westport, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 23rd,
2022 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Korinne Price (DeGroat);
children, Aaron Price and Gianna Holt; brother, Randy Price; aunts, Jackie Price and Margaret
Leafe; uncle, Robin Leafe; and cousins, Shawn, Christine, Alison and Jillian Price, Teresa and
Macayla Weisman, Elizabeth and Christine Armstrong; best friends Jonathan Jay Hochman and
Jon Korinski; and honorary family members Brieana and Kaila Kennedy aka daughter #2.
Kurt was predeceased by his parents Richard and Maridith Price and his sister, Rose.
Kurt was born in Kings Park, NY on August 30, 1970. His family made the move to Ringwood,
NJ in 1976. Having gone through the Ringwood school system, he graduated from Lakeland
Regional High School in 1988. Kurt lived in various locations until work called him to Norwalk,
CT in 2005. He was the loyal and dedicated General Manager of Norwalk Self Storage for 17
years-a job he loved, working for people he respected and revered.
To know Kurt was to love him. His face always held a boyish smile and he was ready to lend a
helping hand to anyone at any time. He would always go above and beyond in everything he
did, personally and professionally. He did everything with the best of intentions and pureness of
heart, even though the delivery could sometimes ruffle some feathers.
Kurt and Korinne knew one another from childhood, living in the same hometown, and became
high school sweethearts. Adult life took them in different directions but they reconnected in 2008
still sharing the same fondness for one another that they'd shared in years past. They were
married in 2010 blending their individual families into one. Together, they raised their two
children of which he was so very proud. He enjoyed supporting them in their endeavors whether
it was a football game, orchestra concert, wrestling match or archery practice. He was a loving,
proud family man who worked as hard as he could to provide the best for them, including his
beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ginger, with whom he shared a special bond- he was
her person. Ginger preceded Kurt in passing in April, 2022, and was surely waiting with a
wagging tail as he crossed through Heaven's gates.
We will miss the corny jokes he told on repeat, the mischievous twinkle in his eyes, the proud
telling of our family story and his joyful spirit. We will aspire to be as kind, as thoughtful and as
courageous as he was as he fought for his life, giving in to the dreadful disease only when
nothing more could be done and the pain became too unbearable.
Dearest Kurt, you were a loving husband and father, an adoring family man, a loyal best friend.
Simply a wonderful human being. We have been honored by your presence in our lives and will
cherish every single memory until we meet again. We love you forever.
