Lauren Meredith Joy

With great sadness, we announce that Lauren Meredith Joy, 31, of Newtown, passed away
unexpectedly on January 9, 2022. Born in Pineville, Louisiana on August 11, 1990 as a two
pound, 13 ounce baby, she was the beloved daughter of Susan Carole Joy of Newtown. Lauren
lived a short 31 years, but family and friends will forever hold her in their hearts.  
Lauren attended Newtown schools, and, after graduating in 2009, she went on to earn a BS in
accounting from Post University. At the time of her death, she was an accounting manager at
Azure Water Services in West Haven, CT. Lauren had a passion for reading, art history, and
ancient civilizations, especially Egypt. She loved movies and her tuxedo cat, Mary. Words
cannot express how much her presence will be missed. She loved family camping trips to historic
places like Williamsburg and the Elizabethan Gardens in the Outer Banks as well as spending
time with her niece, Faith, shopping or making crafts.

Lauren leaves behind several loved ones, including her mother, Susan Joy of Newtown, her
sisters Jennifer Morgan Joy of New Milford and Mariah Lynn Joy of Newtown, and her
cherished niece, Faith Frawley, of New Milford.

A celebration of Lauren’s life will be held in the spring. Donations in memory of Lauren can be
made to the Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson St., Newtown, CT 06470, and
contributions can be noted toward their scholarship fund.
