For 30+ years, Leo & Rita; known as our "other Mom & Dad" for TKE Brothers & Industrial Design students from University of Bridgeport. Their warm, inviting home has always been a "regular stop" for a meal, fun & great conversation for all visitors.
Leo was a maker, tinkerer & handyman his whole life. He was a true patriot, scout leader, camper, boater, fisherman, and traveled far to experience the thrill of the best roller coasters. He began his love of skiing at age 40, took the family on ski trips all over New England. He continued his love of fresh powder on quiet mountains for more than 20 years.
He leaves his legacy of leadership, respect for all & gift of "the conversation" to his sons, James & Mark Colbert, daughters-in-law, Deb Sullivan of Berlin, CT, to Julie Colbert of West Hartford, CT. Leo has been so proud of his two grandchildren, Kylee & Kallen Colbert, watching them grow into adults, graduate into fields they love, becoming true contributors to society.
