Leon Raymond Haviland, 56, passed away on June 3, 2025, in New Britain, CT after a courageous battle with intestinal cancer. Born on February 24, 1969, Leon dedicated his life to his passions and his family.
Leon worked as a mechanic, a career that paralleled his personal interest in working on and rebuilding cars. His love for mechanics extended into his hobbies, where he found joy in tinkering with model trains and RC cars, as well as camping whenever the opportunity arose.
A man of faith, Leon attended the Black Rock Congregational Church.
Leon is survived by his loving relatives: Thomas Jensen and his partner Monica Perez of Thomaston, CT; Candis Laclair and her partner Ryan Roy of New Britain; Shoney Haviland Fennel of Manchester; Timothylee Haviland of New London; and three cherished grandchildren Damien, Logan, and Terrick He is preceded in death by his grandmother Anna Vasko; his parents, Barbara and Lawrence Haviland, Sr.; siblings Judy Lee, Richard Wright, Diane Wright, and Lawrence Haviland Jr; and his daughter Kristilrose LaClair.
Leon will be remembered for his resilience, his skillful hands, and his warm heart. His legacy will continue to live on through his family, his creations, and the memories shared by all who knew him.
