Maddy was born in Bridgeport and enjoyed her childhood growing up in Stratford. She moved to Oxford after she got married to raise their family. She continued her education with certificates in key punching. She was a Teacher’s Assistant in Oxford School. No matter what job Maddy worked she always made sure to be home for her kids. She then became a CNA at the Lutheran Home where she devoted 25 years until she retired to spend more time at home with her husband. She worked nights many of those years to be at home to raise and be there for her children. After retirement they enjoyed as much time with their grandson, Andrew as they could. Always loving birds, she became an avid bird watcher with her Grandson these past few years and they enjoyed many hours identifying birds. She cherished her time looking at all of Andrew’s photos and became a plane spotter, being right next to him when she could.
Maddy was a devoted and proud Wife, Mother and Baba. She always put her family first and had a heart of gold, always willing to help in any way. She was proud of both her children and their accomplishments. She enjoyed relaxing for her nighttime cup of tea with her daughter, Brenda and looking forward to her nightly call from her son, Ken. Maddy took great pride in her and Ken being there to help raise their Grandson, Andrew. She cherished and enjoyed every moment. He could do no wrong in his Baba’s eyes. She loved giving attention to Jet, the family dog. Maddy enjoyed walking with Jet and saying hello to friends/neighbors along the way. They were inseparable.
Maddy loved working in the yard and at their home with Ken. They would make homemade tomato sauce, sauerkraut, chicken paprikash among many other family favorites. She loved having her family over and cooking Sunday dinners. She loved going to her son, Ken and Chris’s home and seeing her grandchildren Taya, Luca and Freya. She cherished this time with them. She also adored her Grandpuppies, Rose, Chip and Cookie. We cannot forget the many walks to see the chickens that made her so happy. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and loved flowers. One of her favorite places was sitting on her back porch with family and enjoying the yard. Maddy also enjoyed many family vacations and took pride in sharing family traditions with her family. She and Ken enjoyed their car rides and getting a hot dog or ice cream. Brenda carried on many of these things with her Mom these last few years and loved doing anything to make her smile.
Maddy was loved and respected and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to: Connecticut Air and Space Center, 225B Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
