Marie Joyce (Berger) Strawser

Marie Strawser, a longtime resident of Branford, passed away on 2/22/2026 she was 86.

Born in New Haven Connecticut she was the daughter of Victor and Emma Berger of Branford. She graduated from Boardman Trade. Marie loved to cook and go to the grocery store. She enjoyed Dana Jai alia, playing bingo and the slot machines but most of all she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren who she often took on road trips. 

Marie was a vibrant colorful woman who never met a stranger. She was outgoing and very giving. She was a member of the Guilford Senior Center where she enjoyed doing crafts and making friends.  

Her favorite game show was The Price Is Right.

She passed peacefully with her children by her side. 

She is survived by her children Donna SantaBarbara-Paranto and her husband Fran Paranto, Robert SantaBarbara, Scott Mason, Antoinette SantaBarbara and Mai Ryan, Dawn Saylor and her husband Thomas Saylor and daughter Debra SantaBarbara. Grandchildren Sean and Andrea Kemnuir, Cody and Elise Paranto, TJ Saylor, Dakota Saylor and Nicholas Saylor as well as her sister Elizabeth Clawson.

Predeceased by her brother Frank Turbert. 

There will be a celebration of life for Marie March 21st, 2026, The VFW 104 Mill Rd. Guilford Ct.

The celebration is open to friends and family from 2-5pm.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to “Guilford Rec Center”.
