On February 26, Mark Stephen Partin, Esq., exactly one month shy of his 64th birthday, transitioned from this life to the one beyond. He and his wife, Linda Rammler, from Middlefield, CT, were the loves of each other's lives, soulmates, and best friends. Both were lifelong members of TASH.org where they met. In 1999, Mark left his beloved Texas and braved the Northeast cold just to be with Linda and, in so doing, became another parent to four children. “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!” They welcomed numerous others into their home.
A graduate of UT Law School, Mark was a successful disability rights attorney licensed to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, several Circuit Courts, and the Federal Court, and spent his career representing and educating individuals with disabilities and their families. He was passionate about social justice, human rights, and equity for all as well as a lover of music, science fiction, and history.
Mark leaves memories of his stories, wicked sense of humor, and infinite love with Linda; children Elizabeth Gionfriddo and her husband, Ross Katten, and Benjamin Gionfriddo; grandchildren, Haley Gionfriddo and Samantha Foote; siblings and their spouses, Doug and Marci Partin and Melissa and Al Roberts; Maddy Roberts and 11 other cherished nieces and nephews; “little bro” Andrew Erskine Wheeler; and many other family members, former colleagues, and numerous friends in CT, throughout the U.S., and across the ponds. He was predeceased by children Larissa Gionfriddo Podermanski and Timothy Gionfriddo, nephew Waylen, brothers “Buster” and Mitchell Partin, father “Ed” Partin, and mother Patricia Hanna Davis. He will be greatly missed by many and warmly welcomed in Heaven.
A Mass for Mark will be held on Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Pius X Church in Middletown, CT, followed by a reception in the church hall. The service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. Please stay tuned for further information about this as well as the celebration of Mark’s life to be held in CT in the spring.
