Mark C. Wilkie, 60, of Coventry, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 30, 2025, at home.
Mark was the beloved husband of Rosemarie Wilkie for almost 38 years. Mark was born in Hartford, CT
to the late Charles Wilkie and Jeannine (Levesque) Wilkie-Peck. Mark worked for Alden Pelletier Inc for
almost 30 years learning the trade of Carpentry and construction before starting his own business
Romar Remodeling in 1997. Mark retired from the industry after 35 years. Mark then started a new
journey in the Print industry working for Joseph Merritt and Company of Hartford, CT. He worked in their
Print Solutions and Scanning divisions on and off for the last 7 years. Mark loved working in his
vegetable garden and canning the fruits of his labor. Mark loved making pickles and salsa and handing
them out to everyone. Mark really enjoyed cooking and creating new meals. Mark’s seafood stuffed
mushrooms will be missed. Mark was an avid New York Giants fan. He enjoyed watching football on
Sundays with his wife and friends. He also rooted for the New York Yankees. Mark made friends
wherever he went. Mark could talk with anyone about anything. He would always lend a helping hand if
he could to whoever needed it. Mark truly will be missed by all that knew him. Besides his wife Rose,
Mark is survived by Brothers, Jim Wilkie and wife Donna of Farmington, CT, Charles Wilkie and wife
Tammy of Tampa, FL, Robert Wilkie and wife Jessica of Severn, MD, Sisters Jeannine and husband Mark
of Chesapeake, VA, Joyce Christman and husband John of Charlotte, NC, Brothers-in-law, Stanley Szewc
and wife Veronica of Bolton, CT, John Szewc and wife Elaine of Ellington, CT, Sister-in-law, Barbara
St. Laurent and husband Alson of Wethersfield, CT, Goddaughter, Samantha Rose Varney of Coventry,
CT, Nephew, Alex St. Laurent and Great Nephew, Joseph St. Laurent of Wethersfield, CT, affectionately
known to Uncle Mark as “Stink” and “Lil Stink”, Mark is also survived by many special Nieces, Nephews,
Aunts, Uncles and Cousins from all over the Country. Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11:00 AM,
June 16, 2025, at St. Mary Church, 1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT, followed by a Celebration of life
immediately after.
