Mary Frances (Platt) Markoski

Mary Frances (Platt) Markoski, age 94 of New Britain, widow of Sylvester Markoski, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 4, 2021 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Mary was born December 26, 1926, in Burtonwood, England; the beloved daughter of the late Harry & Lucy (Grice) Platt. She immigrated to the United States in 1946 on The Queen Mary, and was proud to become an American citizen. 
Mary was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  Mary enjoyed spending time with her family; especially playing dominos and hosting tea parties for her grandchildren. She was known for handing out $2 bills and rolls of pennies. Mary will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, and husband; Mary was predeceased by her: daughter, Theresa Masztal of Putnam; two brothers, John Platt of England, Derrick Platt of New Britain; sister, Anne “Nancy” Martin of England; and good friend and neighbor of 70 years, Eileen G. Doucette.
Mary is survived by her: son, Thomas J. Markoski & daughter-in-law Deborah of Burlington; five daughters, Patricia Maddocks & son-in-law Earl of Abington; Nancy Markoski of Plainville, Margaret Markoski of Plainville, Katherine Markoski of California, Elizabeth Veseskis & son-in-law Marc of Florida; bonus daughter, Doreen Tabor; brother, Les Platt & sister-in-law Diane of Stafford; son-in-law Gerald Menard of Putnum; many well-loved grandchildren & great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory; including her youngest daughter, Judy, the Maltese dog.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank-You,” to the Hartford Healthcare Hospice Team for taking such good care of Mary.
Friends may greet the family on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, New Britain, CT. 06051.  A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow next door to St. Joseph’s Church.  Interment will proceed to St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.
