Maryann Hackett, 64, of Farmington passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 after a long
illness. She is survived by Patricia Hackett of Newington; Gary and Jean Hackett of Farmington;
Karen Hackett and John Hackett of New Britain; Timothy and Lynn Hackett of Wallingford; and
Robert Hackett and Rita Foster of Cromwell. She also leaves a niece, Stephanie Hackett, and
nephews Brett Bilodeau and Justin Hackett. Additionally, she is survived by her cousins Joanne
Giegerich, Laurie Napierski, Philip Aparo, Michael Davis, Carolyn Williams, and Christopher
Torino, along with their spouses and children. She leaves her beloved aunt, Lorraine T. Davis of
Berlin. Maryann is also survived by her best friend, Bob Frascona, whose presence filled her final
years with warmth and laughter.
Maryann attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and graduated from Pulaski High School,
Class of 1978. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Central Connecticut State
University. She worked in the telecommunications industry for several years and recently retired
from the United States Postal Service.
Maryann was a devoted pet mom to her furry children, JoJo and Delilah, whom she joins in
heaven. She was a passionate advocate for animal welfare and generously supported animal
rescue centers.
She loved the beach and cherished her trips to the Caribbean. She enjoyed fashion, shopping,
and dining out. Maryann had a joyful heart and reached out to others wherever she went; she
was loved by many. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Francis of Assisi Church on
Stanley Street, New Britain, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Interment will follow at
Saint Mary Cemetery in New Britain. A luncheon celebration of her life will be announced.
Maryann’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at UConn Health
Center’s ER and ICU for the compassionate care provided to her in her final hours. A special
thank you to Dr. Fernando C. Santini and the staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for
their expertise, care, and support throughout Maryann’s illness.
