Maureen Stankiewicz Obituary

Maureen P. Stankiewicz, age 69 of Berlin, loving wife of John M. Stankiewicz, entered into eternal rest on November 1, 2020 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, in the comfort of her husband, John.

Maureen was born July 20, 1951 in Providence, RI; the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin H. Pettis & Lara (Laurina G. Quarters) Petis. She grew up in West Hartford, CT and attended Hall High School. Maureen later moved to Berlin, CT where she resided for 39 years.

Maureen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a hard worker who had a variety of jobs throughout her life including: Food Mart in Berlin for 16 years, Your Store in Newington for 10 years; and New Britain Transportation for 25 years until her retirement. Maureen enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart.  She will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Along with her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her sister, Melissa Matson of Alamogordo, NM.

In addition to her husband John; Maureen is survived by her: daughter, Rachel Ann Stankiewicz; son, Dennis A. Stankiewicz & daughter-in-law Stephney; son, Matthew E. Stankiewicz & daughter-in-law Amy; brother, Benjamin Pettis & sister-in-law Victoria of New York City, NY.; sister, Marianne Broad & brother-in-law Tim of Suncity, FL.; sister, Michaela Sullivan of West Haven, CT.; six grandchildren, Blake, Tea, Summer, Doctor (Doc), Sierra Ann, Dakota; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Paul’s Church, 461 Alling St. Berlin, CT. 06037.
