Patricia Vivian S. Edge passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018, her children and son-in-law by her side. Pat was born in Philadelphia March 30, 1932 to J. Ralph Satterthwaite and Marguerite Mari Vivian. After George School in Newton, PA she attended the Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, graduating 1954 ready to start teaching the music she was so passionate about. Pat influenced both children and adults for over fifty years through her musical talents, changing the lives of many, some going on to professional careers in the performing arts. From the early 1960's through 2011 Pat performed with the Simsbury Light Opera Company where her soaring soprano was complimented by her wonderful sense of humor and comedic timing. Pat's passion and generosity of time and resources changed the lives of many children when she became musical director of Children's Theater of South Church, the brainchild of her close friend Ellie Kurth, in the mid 1980's. Together they created a legacy of creativity, nurturing and opportunity. Pat is survived by her children Loren Edge of Simsbury, CT and Richard Edge of Lowell, MA, as well as grandchildren Bryan Randolph, Joshua Edge, Colby Edge and Brianna Edge. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, February 11 from 2pm-4pm at the Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S Main St, New Britain, CT.
