Richard “Reef” Steven Denardo, Sr., age 90 of Oakville, widower of Patricia Ann Denardo; entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the LiveWell nursing home.
Richard was born November 27, 1931 in Waterbury, CT., the beloved son of the late John Denardo & Christine (Stovola) Denardo. He attended local Waterbury public schools; graduating from Crosby High School. Richard later attended Clark University in Massachusetts. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and later worked for 27 years as an accountant with Timex Corp.
Richard or “Reef” as he was affectionately known, was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a member of the Waterbury Elks Club for more than 50 years, where he enjoyed playing Setback with his group. Reef enjoyed completing crossword and Suko puzzles. He mostly enjoyed being with his family, especially at the beach.
Along with his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by his: two brothers, Pat Denardo and John Denardo; and his grandson, Tayler Sebring.
Richard is survived by: son, Mark Rinaldi and his wife Evelyn; daughter, Janet Rinaldi; daughter, Beth Young and her husband Ben; son, Richard S. Denardo, Jr. and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Courtney Denardo, Jared Young, Richard S. Denardo, III, Jaclyn Remillard and her husband Rob, Adam Fleischer and his wife Kristy; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish Richard’s memory.
The Denardo family would like to thank Livewell and their entire staff for the kindness and care they showed Reef.
