Richard Musumano, 79 of Bristol sadly passed away on July 4, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1946, in
Bristol to parents Patsy M. Musumano Sr. and Julia Rose (Allawatt). Richard comes from a close-
knit Italian family with roots in West Virginia. His parents along with other family members
moved to Bristol from Shinnston, West Virginia to start a new chapter in their lives.
Richard’s family and extended family settled in Bristol enjoying a simple blue-collar life filled
with Italian food, fun and hard work. Richard had an entrepreneurial spirit. He started off his
professional life as a hairdresser and eventually branched out along with his brothers Gregory
and Patsy, sister Sharon and brother Bobby to become custom home builders.
Richard was a very spiritual man and ecumenical in his spiritual journey. He would one day
attend mass at his childhood church St Anthony and then the next day attend bible study at
Protestant churches as well. He loved to sit and spend time discussing his faith.
Richard found joy in writing poetry and singing. Karaoke was a passion and there were many
people who looked forward to hearing him sing. Richard lifted the spirits of many residents and
staff at Sheridan Woods nursing home with his karaoke skills. Richard was a kind soul and in his
last years his face would light up when a family member or a friend visited him.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Patsy M. Musumano Sr. and Julia Rose (Allawatt), by
his wife Mary, his brothers Gregory and Patsy, sister Mary (Zuggie), and his nieces Dawn and Julie.
