Richard James Fredericks, 83 of Berlin, CT., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Richard, known as 'Dick' to his friends, was born in New Britain, 10/28/38; the eldest son of James Earl and Marie (Fusaro) Fredericks.
Dick spent many years as a successful master mechanic running a full-service station with many loyal customers who always praised his competency and honesty in business matters. Later he embarked on another trade venture working with tin. This appealed to his sharp mathematical skills, passion for physics, and design of duct work. An avid golfer and bowler, Dick loved sports either as a competitor or spectator.
Richard raised a family in Newington, CT. with his former wife Joyce Ann (Paladino) Fredericks.
He is survived by his younger brother James Fredericks and beloved Aunt Betty (Fusaro) Coonie along with three children, Richard James Fredericks Jr. and Kim Pina, David and Lauren Therese (Fredericks) Morgan and Christopher Fredericks and Karen Cossu. He spent his last thirty years with his longtime partner, JoAnn Burnett of Berlin, CT.
Strong willed until the end, he was always a shining example of generosity and decency to friends and his four grandchildren, Brittany Fredericks, Canaan Cossu-Fredericks, Sarah and Abigail Morgan.
