Richard David Korik, 66, departed the confines of this earthly life and peacefully entered freely into Heaven, on February 8, 2025, at 8:12 a.m., following a long battle with Huntington's disease. For the last 6 months, he lived at Ingraham Manor of Bristol, Ct.
Richard was born March 25, 1958, in Milford Connecticut to Alexander and Sophie Korik. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as bonus mom Ruth Korik. Also preceded by his brother Dennis Korik, bonus siblings Gary, Wayne and Richie Wills, as well as Richie's wife Kathy and their daughter Brittany Wills.
Rick is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Beth, his 4 children, 5 grandchildren, as well as several awesome cousins, nieces and nephews. His children are, Jason Korik of Shelton, Bethany Korik and Robin Barbosa, and their children Aria and Azrael all of New Britain, Heather Korik and Jose Diaz and their children Levi, Alexander and Derrick, all of Hartford, and Alyssa and MarcAndre Roy of Stratford. He is also survived by his brother Steve and Nancy Korik of Ansonia and Eddie Korik of New Haven, as well as bonus siblings Bill and Tina Wills of Naugatuck and Sharon and Duayne DeFrancesco.
Rick was known for his gentle nature. always positive and smiling. He worked for UPS in Watertown for about 20 years before he became disabled. Rick had a real love of music all his life, and loved to sing, especially Praise and Worship. Up until his disability, He was very active in his church Cornerstone of Oxford. His favorite things were singing in church, (and at home or in the car), cleaning the church, and serving in the Coffee Fellowship at church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, they just lit him up! He also loved gardening both flowers and vegetables as well as going to the beach, as he grew up right near West Haven Beach.
Rick will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. He is whole, well, happy and most likely singing praises in Heaven. A Celebration of Ricks Life will be held Sat February 15, 2025, at 11:00 Cornerstone Church of Oxford, 656 Oxford Rd, Oxford, Connecticut 06478.
