Richard Luddy Obituary

Richard Luddy, age 91 of Kensington, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. 

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Luddy and his sister, Lucille Luddy. 

Richard was an Army veteran of the Korean war.  He worked as a butcher passing his talents onto his two sons for processing game.  Richard was an avid golfer and was a member of the senior men’s club at Timberlin Golf Course.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Kensington and the Knights of Columbus.  Most of all, he was a loving Dad and Pop Pop and will be greatly missed.   

Richard is survived by his three children, Charles Luddy and wife Barbara, Lisa Fortier, Michael Luddy and wife Nancy, his grandchildren, Melissa Ashmore, Brian Luddy, Erik Fortier, Madeline Bouchard, Tristan Luddy and Shelby Luddy and five great grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind his companion, Betty Padden who he greatly enjoyed spending time with.  

We would like to thank the staff at the Jefferson House for the great care our father received.    

A graveside service with full military honors will held at The Maple Cemetery, 1165 Worthington Ridge Road, Berlin, CT. on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St. New Britain, CT. 06051. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CT Department of Veterans Affairs.
