Richard A. Robinson “Pops” of Berlin, CT passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Saturday July 3rd surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on July 10, 1937. The son of the late Robert K. and Catherine (Connolly) Robinson. Richard served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Ranger. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was an avid UCONN, Boston Red Sox and NY Giants fan. Richard played the baritone “heavy horns” for the Marksmen of Springfield, MA and the N.Y. Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years Janet M. (Anderson) Robinson and their five children who he could not have been more proud of Kelley Ann Lacoske (Brett), Lynn Marie Cota (Robert), Todd Michael Robinson (Tammera), Robert David Robinson (Arika) and Lori Elizabeth Robinson-Hale (Jason), thirteen grandchildren Nickolas, Zachery, Catherine, Brett, Robert, David, Jonathan, Hailey, Morgan, Emma, Meadow, Lewis, Alyson and three great grandchildren.
Richard was predeceased by his two brothers Robert and David, his sister Barbara and his mother in law Frances Anderson “Gigi”.
Friends may greet the family on Friday July 9th, 2021 from 9am-10:30am at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main Street, New Britain, CT. 06051. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, Saint John Evangelist Church Parish, 655 East Street, New Britain, CT 06051 at 11am.
