Robert Gale Obituary

Robert A. Gale, 70 years old, died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at John Dempsey Hospital. He is survived by his devoted and caring wife Karen Neri of 35 years from Torrington CT., and her daughter, his bonus daughter, Tracy Armstrong and her husband Ralph Reed; his brother, Eddie of Maryland, his sister, of Florida; his nephew Rick of Rhode Island; and a several other nieces and nephews.

Bob is a Vietnam veteran that volunteered at 17 years old. He never held back voicing his thoughts on any subject regardless of how sensitive the subject may be. To know Bobbie you would love him. He had a way of making just about everyone he met laugh and wildly uncomfortable at the same time. His conversation was always heartfelt and sarcastic. If he teased you, he loved you. During his glory days he wholeheartedly enjoyed playing softball, darts, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. Through his years he cared for many animals including his beloved boxer, wolf Shepard, cat Scooter and his most important dog Gracie. Bob loved to drive, and his last occupation was that of driving truck for a local Bristol company. Bob truly enjoyed going to the donut station every day for his coffee and donuts and having lunch at Christy’s hassling the staff. I’m pretty sure the time spent here were some of his favorite daily excursions, but what honestly made his eyes sparkle we’re playing the slots or blackjack at the casinos. He was definitely a gambler and even though he never hit big he definitely hit the jackpot in life. Bobbie will most definitely be missed by those that knew and loved him for his character was one of a kind. He was humble, awkward, funny and full of love. He is and was definitely a friend you could count on.

Bobbie is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy; father, Manley; sister, Marjorie; and two brothers, Rusty and Donny.

God speed Bobbie. I’m sure you're giving the pearly gates some hell.

Thank you to all of the staff at Amberwoods and UConn for giving the best care you could.
