Vasques, Rosemary (Denuzze)
Rosemary, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20 th at Jerome Home in New Britain, CT. She was born on April 12, 1924 to Peter and Carmela Denuzze; she was one of seven brothers and sisters and lived in New Britain until 1962 when she moved to Kensington where she lived for 57 years.
She was retired from the Laborers International Union where she worked as a secretary. She spent many winters in Florida where she enjoyed going out and dancing with friends. Dancing was a favorite pastime. She also spent many summers vacationing on Cape Cod at her brother's house. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very special to her. She was very proud of all of them and their accomplishments. Her love and support will be missed.
Rosemary was pre-deceased by her ex-husband, Santino Vasques and son, Peter Vasques. She is survived by a remaining son, Paul Vasques and wife Linda of Middletown; sister, Maryann Cianci (Denuzze) of Kensington; brother, Peter Denuzze of Farmington; sister-in-law, Mary Arnspiger (Vasques) of Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Brian Vasques of Newington and Wendy Carey(Vasques) and her husband, Charles; 3 great-grandchildren, Owen, Braelynn and Aliannah Carey, all of Wethersfield. She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosemary was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington, the Italian Junior League of New Britain and also volunteered at New Britain General Hospital for many years.
Special thanks to all the staff at Jerome Home who made her stay there for the last year so wonderful, especially nurses and aides in the East wing. We are truly grateful for their special care and kindness.
