Roslyn D. Riley-Rankins, 72, passed away on November 19, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Roslyn also known as Roz, Aunt Roz, Nana Roz. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by love, resilience, and dedication to family.
Roslyn was a proud graduate, earning her Master’s Degree at Phoenix University, and she carried her passion for learning into every aspect of her life. For more than eight years, she opened her heart and home as a foster parent, offering care and guidance to children in need. She was also known for her unique language (Geeee Dagg) and humor that could make anyone laugh, a gift that brought joy to all who knew her.
Her legacy continues through her cherished by her two sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (Me and Mines): Sons, Rashaan M. Rankins (Bristol), Jamal D. Rankins (Portland, Oregon) granddaughter Latoya Rankins Levi-Kimbrough (David) and great-grandson Solomon Levi-Kimbrough; grandson Rashaan Tyris Rankins Jr.; granddaughters Ariah Etta Lee Rankins and Mylaiah Talora Rankins; great-granddaughters Alaiah and Ayla Kingsley; and her special grandson Jalyjah Tracy-Gavin. She also leaves behind Jordan Nicolas Burke, who held a treasured place in her life.
Roslyn leaves behind two devoted brothers and two loving sisters, along with a cherished extended family that includes numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be remembered by generations of great‑ and great‑great‑grand nieces and nephews, each touched by her warmth and presence. Beyond her family, Roslyn’s life was enriched by a wide circle of dear friends, whose love and companionship brought her joy throughout the years.
She is predeceased by her mother, Patricia Nell Riley; father, Clarence McCoy Riley; and brother, John Fitzgerald Riley.
Roslyn will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
