Shannon Smith, of Plainville, Connecticut, passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 48.
She was the beloved daughter of Kevin J. Smith and Alexandra M. Smith, and was
predeceased by her mother, Cynthia A. Smith. Shannon graduated with honors from
Johnson & Wales University and went on to build a successful career with Global Tech
Solutions, cybersecurity.
Shannon will be remembered for her kindness, her generous spirit, and her remarkable
ability to bring laughter and light to those around her.
She is survived by her loving sister, Erin Gentile; her cherished nephews, Nicholas Gentile
and Mason Gentile; her stepbrother, Michael Pisko, his wife, Tracey, and their children; and
her stepsister, Kirstin Boucian, and her children. She also leaves behind many aunts,
uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of dear friends and colleagues. Among them, her closest
friends, Inez and Carrie, held a special place in her heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St.
Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain, Connecticut. Interment will immediately follow at
St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in
Shannon’s honor.
