Shirley A. Luppino, a longtime resident of Berlin, passed away on Monday,
October 28 th , 2024. Born in New Britain, Shirley was the daughter of the late Alfred P.
and Anna (Varriale) Compano. She graduated from New Britain High School and was
also a graduate of Dance Masters of New York. Shirley was a member of the Dance
Educators of America and owned Shirley Compano’s School of Dance from 1955-1962.
Shirley was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her
children; Lynda, Rick, Michael, Domenic, Cori, and Sheri Luppino, her grandchildren;
Jamie, Olivia, Julia, Jack, and Ava, and her great grandchildren; Kylie and Kayliana
Luppino. She was predeceased by her grandson, Richie Luppino. The family would like
to give special thanks to Shirley’s caregivers, Philicia Simms-Lee and her mother Elaine
Simms, for their incredible love and support. Shirley will be remembered for her
generous, caring nature, and a beautiful smile that lit up the room.
