Susan C. Palmieri of Southington, CT, passed away on Tuesday January 23, 2024, at New Britain General Hospital, surrounded by her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.
Susan was born on October 3, 1941, in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late James and Frances Conklin. For a significant part of her career, Susan worked for Stanley Works at their New Britain and Farmington locations.
Susan enjoyed watching golf and her favorite news stations, completing puzzles, and crocheting blankets for her family. She was an avid reader and her favorite topic to read and learn about was Scotland, having traveled there many years ago. She loved learning about its history and culture, and often wore her favorite Scottish emblems and plaids. Finally, she was a marvelous storyteller, vividly recounting her life and what she’d learned through reading.
Susan is survived by her sister Frances Borges, children William Palmieri and his partner Shannon, James Palmieri and his wife Betsy, Laura Light and her husband William, her grandchildren Cody and Abigail, William and Bridget, Deila, James, and Martin, as well as several nephews.
As per her wishes, Susan will be cremated and her ashes will be dispersed at a later date. You may visit her tribute page at LuddyCremationCare@gmail.com to share memories and offer condolences to the family.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to New Britain General Hospital, Autumn Lake Healthcare, Hartford Hospital HealthCare, Fresenius Kidney Care Southington, Fresenius Kidney Care Central Connecticut, Calendar House of Southington, and Heavens Hands Home Care.
