Theresa Yvonne Stewart

Theresa Yvonne Stewart of Meriden, CT passed away in peace at the age of 60.   She was born in Bridgeport, CT, and graduated from Albertus Magnus College, attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business.  Theresa worked in many professional roles over the past 30 years, including Office Manager at Quasar Special Needs Vocational Center, Business Manager at US Surgical Corporation, and as a Sales Executive at AT&T.

Theresa was the daughter of the late Helen Reid, and William Stewart; loving mother of Tahnee Garay, Jamie Hinckley, and her son-in-law Eric Garay.  Proud grandmother of Calvin Kanlong, Aeliana Dorso and Cire Garay.  Sister of Robyn Stewart Johnson, Dr. Fielding Johnson, and William Stewart, Jr.  Further survived by close friend Dan Nichols, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Theresa will fondly be remembered as ambitious, intelligent, and a woman whose beauty and delightful spirit brought joy to all who knew her.  She was happiest when spending time with her family, taking part in her grandchildren’s extracurricular events, and attending dance and musical performances.  Theresa also had a passionate love for history, and she dedicated several years completing genealogy research to trace the family’s lineage.   

Please join us in celebrating Theresa’s life through a memorial service, on Saturday, March 20, 2021 between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, at 205 South Main Street, New Britain CT 06051.
