Valerie J Bohren Obituary

Valerie Jean Bohren of Torrington, CT died on March 13, 2026, at her home. Born on September 18, 1975, in Sharon, CT, Valerie chased her life goals with spunk and determination and a healthy dose of stubbornness. Most important to her, though, were her friends and family, and especially her “fur babies.” Valerie was quick to respond to people in times of need and shared her time and gifts even when she was overwhelmed with other responsibilities.

Valerie grew up in Connecticut in the towns of Sharon, Colebrook, Winsted, Burlington, Uncasville, and Torrington, graduating from Torrington High School and Post University. She lived in Arizona
and then returned to Connecticut, from where she bounced back and forth from Florida. She loved friends and family in Connecticut and in Florida, but truly preferred Florida, its beaches, and its lack of snow and bitter cold weather.

Valerie leaves behind her son, Tyler Marens, and his wife, Hailey; her mother, Janice Whynott; her three older sisters and their significant others: Debra and Kevin Hart, Marcie and Richard LeBlanc, and Caroline Bohren and Randy Riley; her fur-babies, Samara and Fiona; as well as many cherished friends and other relatives. She was predeceased by her father, Edward Bohren, and her beloved dog, Diesel.

Friends and family of Valerie Jean Bohren are invited to join together in celebrating her life and commemorating her loving contributions to the world. A gathering will be held on Saturday, May 2nd,
from 2 to 4 pm at First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, Torrington, CT.
