Wayne Louis Rametta, 49, of New Britain suddenly passed away on February 25, 2020. Born in Meriden on January 17, 1971, the son of Alfred and Joyce (Kelchak) Rametta, he was a graduate of H.C. Wilcox Technical High School. Wayne went on to become an incredibly amazing craftsman, most recently working for MRD Contracting with his friend, Mike, whom he called “little buddy”.
Wayne had an infectious smile and was always cracking a joke trying to make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching football on Sundays, especially his favorite team, Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved watching ID network, college basketball, the Dr. Phil show and taking a long weekend trip to Saratoga to watch the horseraces, always hopeful for the big win. Maine was one of his favorite places to visit. He enjoyed cooking and having a nice home cooked meal. He was a master griller and only he could cook a burger to perfection.
Besides his loving parents, Wayne is survived by his beloved son, Zachary of Utah and Zachary’s mother, Sandra Schools of Meriden, sisters, Dawn Warner of Wallingford, Jill (Tony) Wood of Berlin, and brother, Scott, of New Britain, his aunts, Brenda Rametta of Meriden, Joanne Carino of Berlin and several cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Alfred and Marie Rametta, Joseph and Ann Kelchak and his aunt, Donna Rametta.
