William D. Forgione, Born and raised in New Britain, CT, passed away peacefully with a family member by his side on 4/16/2025 at the age of 95.
Born in New Britain, CT, he was the son of Antonio and Anna (Carrozza) Forgione. He graduated from New Britain High School, CCSU, and UCONN. He was employed through the Southington School Board as a teacher. He taught at South End Elementary School from 1959 to 1991. He was an Airforce veteran from 1951-1954.
William was a member of St.Francis of Assissi. He enjoyed the arts, crafts, collecting stamps, travelling, and teaching others about flowers. He had a voracious appetite for reading, especially at the New Britain Library. He will be remembered for his vast knowledge, quiet composure, and love for trivia.
He is survived by a brother Joesph (Maryann), sister Eileen (Ed) Weber, Sister-in-Law Nancy. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Pat (Pearl), Raymond (Nancy), sisters, Elizabeth (Dominic) Radavich, Margaret, nephew Gary Forgione, best friends and companions Bob Russ and Brad Ellis.
Friends are invited to calling hours at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home at 205 S. Main Street New Britain, CT on Thursday, 4/24 at 9 am, followed by a funeral mass at St. Joesph’s Church in New Britain. Following immediately after a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain.
